HAND TOOLS WORKSHOP 101 - Restoring and Tuning Up Old Hand Planes
About this event
The HAND TOOLS workshops are a series of four Saturday workshops over the course of four months. The workshops will focus on various aspects of hand tool woodworking with a particular focus, but not exclusive to hand planes. Participants are encouraged to bring along an old Stanley hand plane in need of improvement or they can work on an existing hand plane in Alan's shop that needs some attention. Participants are not required to attend all four workshops, but the sessions follow a progression of added complexity. Participation in the entire series of workshops will likely be most beneficial. Added this season are more recent innovations in sharpening (CBN wheels, Unicorn sharpening, Tormex hardware) as well as hand saw usage, and combinations of power tool and hand tool selections for added shop efficiency. Come to share your skills with others and possibly learn some new skills.
